Bites

MoveOn pulls three classic soundbites from the Republicans to motivate their tribe with the admonition: “We can’t let them win.” The bites: McCain says Americans don’t care if we’re in Iraq for 1,000 years. Romney says we ought to double Gitmo. And, of course, there’s Huckabee saying we should amend the Constitution to bring it sync with God.

Movin’ On

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asks Senator Hillary Clinton about MoveOn.org’s “General Betray Us” ad. The smooth-talking Senator manages to respond without actually mentioning MoveOn.

Sound Bite: “This debate should not be about an ad. This debate should be about the President’s failed policies.”

Tag . . . You’re It.

MoveOn.org went after Rudy Giuliani yesterday.

Rudy responds today with a 30-second radio ad, calling MoveOn “the most powerful left-wing group in the country.”

Sound Bite: “They know Rudy is a Republican who can beat the Democrats.”

MoveOn.org Goes After Rudy

Rudy bashed MoveOn.org last week for its “General Betray Us” ad. This week MoveOn.org bashes back with an ad entitled “Rudy Giuliani: A Betrayal of Trust.”

Think they’re trying to get Rudy to go medieval?

Did McCain’s Bomb Bit Bomb?

MoveOn.org has produced an ad criticizing John McCain for his “Bomb Iran” joke and they’re asking for donations to buy TV time.

Says MoveOn:

John McCain’s reckless stump speech Wednesday sends a message that war with Iran is a viable strategy. We can’t afford to let this go unchecked. Can you contribute to get an emergency ad on the air to respond? We need to get out of the war we are in not start another.

“Lighten up and get a life,” says Senator McCain.
