Gravel remixes Obama

Mike Gravel couldn’t even get nominated by the Libertarians, so he finally says his campaign is over. But he promises to remake his YouTube channel and turn it into a home for commentary like this. Move over, Colbert.

That ’60s Guy

Mad Mike Gravel has posted a clip entitled “The Making of Helter Skelter X,” jam-packed with images of the 1960s: The JFK assassination, Malcolm X, Vietnam War atrocities, antiwar protests, LBJ, the Martin Luther King assassination, urban riots, RFK speechifying, the RFK assassination, the ‘68 Democratic Convention riots, etc. etc. etc. All this set to a pounding soundtrack featuring riffs from The Beatles “Helter Skelter.” And signifying . . . ? Now we know why Mike likes to throw large stones in ponds.

You Say It’s Your Birthday

Mad Mike Gravel is 78 today. And he’s partying hearty. Then it’s on to the Libertarian Party Convention on May 22 in Denver!

Gravel girl?

Mike Gravel sings and dances to win the heart of Obama Girl. She’s stringing him along….

And from behind the scenes, here’s Gravel learning how to sing. Old dog….

While we’re getting out comic relief, from the same folks, here’s Obama’s stand-up routine…

Mad Mike Makes a Play for Obama Girl

And politics will never be the same. (Hey, who knew Mad Mike could crank that Soulja Boy?)

Gravel grump at 3 a.m.

Evan Engel of CurrentTV decides to ask the candidates what they would decide at 3 a.m. but, of course, the only candidate who’ll talk to him is Mike Gravel. But then Gravel gets pissy about the question.

And then Gravel gets tech support. Who hasn’t done that for Dad?

Dream on, Mike

Mike Gravel makes an incredibly irritating video suggesting that if enough people gave him $50 every 20 days, he’s raise millions. If pigs could fly.

Mr. Libertarian

Mad Mike Gravel says he’s no longer a Democrat and is now running for president as a Libertarian.

Sound Bite: “It’s not so much that I left the Democratic party, it’s the Democratic party left me. And what I believe in is more what the Libertarian party stands for.”

YouTube, SchmooTube

Mike Gravel complains directly to YouTube political editor Steve Grove about taking him — and Ron Paul — off the YouTube/YouChoose page. According to YouTube, it’s now a three-way race. But how can we forget the comic relief?

Mad Mike on Change

Over a jazzy sountrack, Mike Gravel explains why politicans use the word “change.” He urges voters to “come out of the shadows and make decisions on policy issues.”

Sound Bite: “Politicians are not about change. Change is how they appeal to anyone who is not happy with the way things are going. Right now, after seven years of George W. Bush just about anybody is ready for change.”

Gravel’s greatest hits

Mike Gravel is the gift that keeps giving on YouTube. They’re now putting up his best moments, like this one:

Sound bite: “I’m a tough guy. You don’t want a namby pamby as President.”

Rhetorical rap

Mike Gravel raps the political pap we hear from candidates.

Sound bite: “Isn’t it time we cut the crap?”

G’bless Mike

Mike Gravel lectures on religion and how efforts to teach creationism “corrupt” our youth. He warns that unless we keep church and state separate, we will combine the repressive nature of government with the repressive nature of religion “and that is the repression of human beings.”

Drug pusher

Mike Gravel tells a bunch of teens — teens! — that marijuana is safer and better than alcohol.

Bye-Biden

Joe says farewell. His last YouTube campaign video:

And here’s Chris Dodd’s good-bye. We at PrezVid will miss him, for he made more creative (if long) use of YouTube in his campaign. Apparently that won’t win you elections yet.

Meanwhile, Mike Gravel is NOT saying good-bye (and who thought he would ever?). This is his briefest video ever, telling Olberman that reports of his political demise are exaggerated.
