She’s getting contributions from old friends, from the young mom who doesn’t have much money but she’s doing it for her two young girls, from the woman who says it’s “now or never,” from the woman who told her husband she wanted to contribute to Hillary instead of going out to dinner on Valentine’s Day, from the “crusty conservative” who trusts her to get America out of its “mess.” It takes a skillful candidate to go from flush frontrunner to dialing-for-dollars in a few short months and make it sound like a heroic journey.
Mitt Romney’s got a lot of money but that doesn’t mean he can’t use some more. So, he staged a “national call day” in Boston this week to raise $5 million for the upcoming primaries.
