The Conservative Political Action Conference wrapped up its three-day meeting by giving Mitt Romney an edge over Rudy Giuliani in a straw poll of some 1700 conference participants. Here’s Romney on the state of conservatism in America today.
At last year’s conference, then-Virginia Senator George Allen won the straw poll with 22 percent of the vote. His presidential plans have since changed.
