Looks like the both campaigns have decided that there’s no point in talking about substance. Let’s deliver tired punch lines and get all “outraged” about perceived insults instead.
LATER: CBS has asked YouTube to take down the John McCain “lipstick” ad, which features a clip of Katie Couric commenting on “sexism” by the media in the coverage of the Hillary Clinton campaign. More here.
The ad is available John McCain’s official Web site.
MORE: Obama says he’s had enough of “made-up controversy,” blaming the news media and the McCain campaign for focusing on “lies and phony outrage and swift-boat politics.”
Sound Bite: “The McCain campaign would much rather have the story about phony and foolish diversions than about the future. This happens every election cycle. Every four years, this is what we do.”
“Looks like the both campaigns have decided that there’s no point in talking about substance.”
Both campaigns?
I guess this is proof of the wisdom of McCain’s strategy. Fling crap. Even if it doesn’t stick, many observers will be sickened by it and blame Obama as well as McCain for what is happening.
Since McCain can’t win if people think Obama is different, this is a win for him.
Thanks for proving that lying works.
