The Obama campaign is getting a lot of mileage out of John McCain’s “how many houses do you own” gaffe. But McCain’s not sitting back counting his properties, he’s counterattacking.

His new 30-second spot reminds voters that Barack Obama bought his “million-dollar mansion” with the help of one of his “biggest fundraisers” — Tony Rezko — in return for “political favors, including $14 million from taxpayers. Now he’s a convicted felon facing jail.”

It’s heartening to see both candidates focusing on the important issues.
