A reporter asks Obama whether he’s too GQ to relate to the common man. He responds, “It is a fairly standard suit. I haven’t changed my approach to dressing too much… I basically buy five of the same suit…. I have four pairs of shoes…. Recently I’ve taken to getting a haircut more often than I used to… I know there is concern about my bowling score. I have committed to practicing bowling.”
He complains about media coverage of his bowling score. It was only seven frames. Kids bowled two of the balls.
He even confesses to eating Jell-O molds.
Here’s a very unGQ guy named GQ who makes a video supporting Obama and making a connection between the man’s initials and deodorant. Go figure.
To regain his jock cred, Obama plays basketball in Indiana:
In a North Carolina commercial, Clinton goes after the price of gas, proposing to use a windfall profits tax to suspend gas taxes this summer and investigate price gouging.
Sound bite: “With gas this expensive, talk is cheap.”
And here’s an Obama speech on gas given at a gas station in Indiana. It’s about lobbyists.
And here’s Clinton firing back at Obama’s criticism on her energy policy with criticism on his voting for the Cheney energy plan; she didn’t. “That bill had billions of dollars of giveaways to the oil companies.”
“I know my opponent has run ads saying he does not take money from oil companies. Well, no one does. It’s illegal. It’s been illegal for 100 years to take money from oil companies… In March, he took more money from oil company executives than any candidate, Republican or Democrat.”
A longer version of the same clip with more criticism of Obama:
Here’s that ad bragging that he doesn’t take money from oil companies:
Bill Moyers’s interview with Reverend Jeremiah Wright is scheduled for broadcast on PBS tonight. In this promo clip Reverend Wright says he and his church are misunderstood and that his comments have been taken out of context. (More here.)
Sound Bite: “I felt it was unfair. I felt it was unjust. I felt it was untrue. I felt that those who were doing that were doing it for some very devious reason.”
Senator Hillary Clinton goes with the Sergeant Schultz response when asked about former president Bill Clinton granting clemency to two members of the Weather Underground back in 2001.
Sound Bite: “Well, I didn’t know anything about it.”
Here are 10 posts with 10 videos submitted to MoveOn.org to air for Obama. Because Moveon made the videos play automatically, I had to separate each into a separate post and you need to click on the “more” link in each. If I didn’t, they’d all play at once and you’d be hyp-no-tized.
Exploited kids: “We can’t vote for Barack Obama, but you can.”
