Bill Clinton Explains it All

Let’s face it, the former president has a gift. He can say he’s sorry about something and then explain that he doesn’t really have anything to apologize for because he was actually right but he’s contrite nonetheless about the situation — whatever it was. And he can say all this at the same time while keeping a straight face! It’s a marvel to behold. And just think, we’re going to get to see this performance played out over and over again during the coming months as one pesky issue (past and present) after another crops up.

Campaigning up in Maine yesterday, President Clinton says it is “factally inaccurate” that he criticized Obama personally but that he learned a “very valuable lesson from all that dust-up.”

Sound Bite: “I think the mistake that I made is to think that I was a spouse like any other spouse who could defend his candidate. I think I can promote Hillary but not defend her because I was President.”
