The Torch is Passed (Again?)

It was a liberal Democratic lovefest as three Kennedys -- Caroline, Senator Ted and Representative Patrick -- stood up for Barack Obama today. More here. Ted Kennedy delivered an enthusiastic endorsement: "I feel change in the air . . . . It is time again for a new generation of leadership." Caroline Kennedy compared Obama to her dad: “There is one candidate who offers that same sense of hope and inspiration and I am proud to endorse Senator Barack Obama for president of the United States.” Barack Obama returns the love. And why not? What Democratic candidate wouldn’t want to be embraced by the Kennedys and compared to JFK and RFK: “I know what your support means. I know the cherished place the Kennedy family holds in the hearts of the American people."
