Lobbyists have cooties

Mitt Romney gets into a snippy exchange with an AP reporter, captured by a CBS reporter. In a press op in Staples — Staples? — Romney says he doesn’t have lobbyists running his campaign. AP reporter Glen Johnson scoffs and asks Ron Kaufman, a lobbyist who has been seen with Romney. The candidate insists Kaufman’s not running the campaign and is not in strategy sessions; Johnson asks whether he has not been in debate strategy sessions. Back and forth. Nya nya. They each huff off. Romney’s campaign aide scolds Johnson and tells him she shouldn’t be argumentative with the candidate.

Uh, isn’t being argumentative just what journalists should be with candidates? Don’t we wish they’d be more argumentative? I do.

It all ends with a lady with an accent telling the reporter, “You’re ruuuude ‘n’ ugly.” Do you talk to your grandkids with that mouth, lady?

When he was at Bain, Romney turned around Staples.

This is so funny. The reporter looks like an idiot sitting on the floor trying to debat Romney. What a joker. Glen Johnson was wrong and he wasn’t man enough to admit it. He looked like a little school boy leaving the event; he was taking his toys and going home.
