Here’s Hillary’s video announcing the winner of her song contest, co-starring Bill, in the style of, well, go watch first:
Brilliant. This will go crazy: huge traffic and the best indication of a campaign sense of humor I’ve seen yet in this election. Bill’s a better actor - well, hasn’t that always been the case — but the entire effort has just the right touches: a real American diner (in Mt. Kisco, NY), Hilllary at the jukebox, Bill hankering for something fried, Chelsea parallel parking. The only thing they missed was a Members Only Jackson for Johnny Sack.
Here’s the winning song: Celine Dion’s You and I.
And here’s the report of our sister blog, WashingtonPost.com’s Channel-08.
Would be very cool if more candidates started creating their own Internet video sketches. I like the way they joked about Bill’s eating habits. The fastest way to credibility is by admitting weakness. I bet if more candidates did things like this, we might think them all more credible…
yes - hillary rocks…:) and she will win.
I really like the hat-tip to those who are not yet sold on Hillary, it’s a disarming wink at the unending - and vapid - talking point that she is too divisive to lead the nation.
She has a sense of humour and knows precisely where she fits in the American political landscape; there’s no fear of tone-deafness with this candidate. Good stuff, no doubt we’ll see more like it.
Apparently, hundreds of thousands of people came to Hillary’s site to vote for the song. I wonder if anyone did it American Idol style by voting a gazillion times for their favorite song…
I agree this is a brilliant video. It showcases Hillary’s great sense of humor, and it ties into the cultural mainstream. But you know it is good when Shawn Hannity mentions it but has no negative comment. As Hillary haters go he is second only to Chris Matthews, who divides his on air time between criticizing her and drooling over Senator and Michelle Obama. The American People are starting to wise up as evidenced by his recent booing at the union event. He is fast becoming another Geraldo.
Definitely a winner because they are willing to do something fun and clever and ‘out there’ for a presidential candidate.
