At a Town Hall-style meeting in New Hampton, Iowa on May 27th, John Edwards answers a question about how he will deal with the growing federal budget deficit. Edwards says that while he’s in favor of capping the deficit, he wants to spend more money on universal health care, education, energy development, poverty, etc. And you can’t increase spending and reduce the deficit at the same time, he says — “Not if you’re being honest.” Oh yeah, Edwards will also roll back tax cuts for those “rich people.”
Jackie Mason on Edwards
An apoplectic Jackie Mason doesn’t think much of John Edwards’s suggestion that Americans protest the Iraq war on Memorial Day. (He’s also got a few things to say about the candidate’s haircut.)
