Barack Obama was speaking before the congregation at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Los Angeles on Sunday when he spotted Stevie Wonder among the worshipers. According to the North County Times, Obama appeared surprised, saying ” ‘I’ve got to take a break because Stevie Wonder is in the house. I grew up with Stevie Wonder; I love Stevie Wonder.’ Wonder was ushered onto the stage next to Obama, where he sang a song saying in part, ‘Barack Obama is going to be the next president,’ as the congregation sang their praises.”
Here’s a raw clip of Wonder singing gospel while Obama claps to the beat and provides some backup vocals.
Adorable!!! I was raised up on the Motown greats, reminds me of The Big Chill where in the kitchen scene where they begin partying to the Temptations - Baby Boomers!!!! such fun - nice to see Senator Obama loosen up a bit -
