Behind the debate, live

Chris Dodd’s campaign put a live stream from its debate warroom on the internet and, via UStream, enabled bloggers to embed it on their own sites. Blue Hampshire tells the story. Here’s video pro Jim Long on the live revolution.

As a citizen of this country, I understand your ire over the internet restrictions placed on the debate video. I think technologies like Ustream might provide a very viable platform for a live internet televized debate. The embedding function of Ustream could allow for considerable broadcasting and perhaps generate better audiences than certain cable channels. As I said before, I was not being flip when I suggested an internet sponsored debate. While Huffington Post appears to have two lined up, it will be interesting to see how many candidates participate, how well they functions technically, whether or not they share the video, and what kind of viewership they get.
