Reinventing Government Redux

Hillary Clinton is running a a disciplined campaign, addressing major issues in a steady, systematic manner. Her latest topic: Goverment reform. In an April 13th speech at the Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, Clinton’s focus was not on “whether government is big or small,” but “whether it is competent or incompetent, whether it is corrupt or honest, whether it is devoted to the public interest or beholden to the special interests.”

While acknowledging that her address was “not exactly the kind of subject matter that gets people marching in the streets,” Clinton outlined a number of policies that she said she would implement as President, including a reprise of the Al Gore-led Reinventing Government initiative from her husband’s administration.
