You may be right about that particular Ron Paul video, but I think the occasional "behind the scenes" video on YouTube can work in some cases as long as its much tighter than Paul's and has a defined point. I'd love to see, for example, campaign staff playing a prank on their boss in under thirty seconds. That's not getting the message out, but if it goes viral, it could get more people interested in the candidate and drive them back to their other YouTube videos where they (hopefully) go into more detail on their issues.
