Definite agreement on the fact that a web presence implies an invitation to interaction. It would seem his ad, however, was the equivalent of swatting a mousquito with a howitzer. He couldn't have foreseen the effect he would have, of course, but chosing one of the most famous ads in history to paraphrase should've given him SOME clue.

My only substantial critique is that this ad is simply about style...and style is something that politics has relied upon FAR too long in this country. Your own 'question on healthcare' video, Jeff, is more issue-oriented and deserves serious consideration. The problem is, talking-head vids are indistinguishable from any news commentator...people tend to hit the 'mute' button on the remote, or slip the earbuds out to make a quick phone call. There needs to be a middle ground here - where you can take your question into a studio (however improvised that may be) and deliver something more illustrative while staying on-topic. Maybe some clips of hospital emergency waiting rooms...where my own father, for example, spent 7 hours waiting for medical staff to treat him, while a staph infection spread through his bloodstream, infected his heart valves and raised his temperature to 104 degrees. This was a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, mind you - a 'modern' American City. The upshot has been that my Dad is now on his deathbed, in hospice care...his heart too weak to risk implanting another pacemaker.

Thank you, American Health-Care System...for NOTHING....
