Right now every network is rushing to the Internet. The internet is both a dream come true and a nightmare as it steals away viewers and reduces TV viewership. But for politicians, youtube and other social networking sites are just another way to broadcast their message, it's free media they don't have to earn. It's street cred with younger audiences for now. But that can turn. Witness the success of the Hillary Big Brother ad. Because of the internet, it has already achieved the broadcast power of the Swiftboating spot. If networks were smart, they would start to embrace the internet as their online channels. Make no mistake, television right now rules, but that day will come to an end when the phone, TV and computer merge seemlessly.
