In one of its latest videos, the Barack Obama campaign uses clips from 2002, 2003 and 2004 to make clear which Democratic candidate was against the Iraq war from the git-go. As to the way forward, Obama’s position is equally clear: all U.S. combat troops out of Iraq by March 2008. (No Clintonesque nuances from him about leaving behind some forces to protect U.S. interests in the aftermath.) Oh yes, the government should also take better care of its soldiers and rebuild the military.
